After 339 years, New York's capital city elected it's first black mayor in 2025.

 

This successful campaign for Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs began 2 full years prior to her election.

 

In addition to shooting the mayor's official campaign photos and headshots, I also worked with the Applyrs team to expand the visual brand identity and produce a variety of graphics and advertisements during the course of the campaign.​​​​

These images have been published in Essence Magazine and featured online by the Democratic National Committee and New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
